" The photo of Eric playing his guitar, I shot on the first day i had my new Nikon camera..... I tested a roll of black and white...... processed my own film and made my own prints. I believe it was around 1973...... The proof sheet is in my garage in a box."

.......So....Eric is now "on his way" into the eternal realms of light, life, & love in Christ ~ surfing the endless waves of gravitational distortion of the space-time continuum across galactic reefs & cosmic point breaks.

Dennis Merryman [Eric's roommate for many years] was pretty shook up over all this. We were at their
place soon after and he said to me " It's so weird, Eric not being here. I can't even eat pizza!!'
** THE ORIGIN OF BOTA
When we were attending Rolling Hills High School in the late 1960's, Eric and I both went out for the water polo team. I was assigned to the "Bee" squad, and Eric to the "Varsity." This would have been...1968-69. There was a very funny dude on the Varsity team, Brad Budde. Whenever Eric (or anyone else) would screw up, he would yell: "Hey...don't be a chodabite!!" ...Russell Ramsey, who used to follow me around the handball courts like a mooncalf, reversed it: "Don't be a bodachite!!" This became MY nick-name. Eric then stole it several years later, when he was living in Leucadia on La Veta in 1972 with John Brunner and Randy Brending. Eric used to carry a bota bag with him when he went surfing down the street at Stone Steps. He knew I was "Boda" to my friends, so...he changed the nomenclature to "Bota" for HIM...--JB
